Join us on a 2-day desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora and experience the magic of southern Morocco. Your journey begins with a drive across the spectacular High Atlas Mountains and the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters. The winding roads reveal breathtaking landscapes, Berber villages, and terraced farms before arriving at the legendary Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, you’ll have time to explore the fortified ksar and enjoy lunch in a traditional restaurant nearby. From Ait Ben Haddou, the adventure continues toward the Draa Valley, crossing the Tizi n’Tnifift pass at 1,710 meters, once a historic caravan route for traders traveling across the Sahara. The road descends through dramatic gorges to Agdz, where you’ll discover one of Morocco’s largest palm groves. As you follow the Draa River toward Zagora, you’ll pass mud-brick villages, ancient kasbahs, and endless palm oases that give the valley its unique charm. Upon reaching Zagora, a desert town famous for its pottery and its history as a caravan trading post to Timbuktu, you’ll find the iconic sign marking the 52-day journey by camel across the Sahara. From here, the highlight of your tour begins: a camel ride into the desert at sunset. You’ll arrive at a traditional Zagora desert camp, where a warm Moroccan dinner awaits. As the sun rises over the small dunes of the Zagora desert, you’ll wake to a stunning desert morning and enjoy a traditional breakfast at the bivouac. Afterward, your camel ride takes you back to meet your driver for the journey to Marrakech. Along the way, you’ll have free time in Ouarzazate to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and explore the famous Kasbah of Taourirt.
