Continuing onward, we arrive in Azrou, a renowned center for handicrafts, especially its exquisite cedar woodwork.
After a delicious lunch in Midelt, known as the "apple capital" of Morocco, the journey continues to Erfoud, where the desert landscape begins to unfold before your eyes. As the sun sets, we reach a cozy hotel at the foothills of the majestic Erg Chebbi Sahara Dunes. Immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of the desert while having a delicious dinner and spending a restful night.
2: Sightseeing Tour and Camel Ride in the Sahara Desert
Today's adventure takes us to the awe-inspiring Erg Chebbi desert dunes, where we'll be immersed in the marvels of this mesmerizing region. Our journey encompasses a circuit of the desert dunes, offering a unique opportunity to witness the nomadic way of life and experience the captivating, ever-changing contrasts of the desert landscape.
The soul-stirring melodies of the Gnawa musicians will enchant us as we visit the quaint village of Khamlia. Enjoying the tastes of real regional food, we will eat a traditional Berber pizza for lunch in the historic city of Rissani.
An amazing camel ride through the dunes to see the captivating desert sunset is in store for us in the afternoon. We are going to a comfortable desert camp deep in the heart of the desert for the night. We will enjoy a delicious traditional Tagine dinner and then enjoy a delightful cup of mint tea while stargazing. A memorable experience in the enthralling Sahara desert awaits us as the sounds of traditional Berber music fill the air, and we are mesmerized by the spectacle of the stars and the rising moon.
3: Merzouga to the Gorges through the Desert Towns
After breakfast at your camp, we will depart from Merzouga and head towards the stunning Todra Gorges. Enjoy a scenic drive through charming Berber villages, immersing yourself in the unique landscapes of the region.
Upon reaching Todra Gorges, you can hike along the impressive cliffs that rise dramatically over the river, providing breathtaking views and perfect photo opportunities. After touring the gorges, proceed to the enchanting Dades Valley, sometimes referred to as the "Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs."
Experience the rich culture of the region and stop at famous kasbahs while you drive through this stunning valley. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and unwind at your Dades Valley lodging in the evening as you take in the amazing sights of the day.
4: Dades Valley to Marrakech through the cinema towns
After breakfast in the picturesque Dades Valley, we’ll start our journey to Marrakech. Our first stop is Skoura Oasis, known for its lush palm groves and impressive kasbahs. Take a moment to explore this tranquil area and admire its traditional architecture.
Next, we’ll head to Ouarzazate, the "Gateway to the Sahara," famous for its film studios and the UNESCO-listed Taourirt Kasbah, which showcases the region's rich history.
From there, we’ll visit Ait Ben Haddou, another UNESCO World Heritage site known for its striking earthen architecture and beautifully preserved kasbahs. This ancient village has served as a backdrop for numerous films.
