About This Tour
Escape the heat of Marrakech and venture into the Imlil Village nestled in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. Towering over the village is Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Imlil, a lively yet quaint village in the Mezane Valley, is a central hub for trekking in the High Atlas. It serves as the starting point for many scenic hikes, including the ascent to Mount Toubkal. Easily accessible to some of Morocco's most picturesque valleys and gorges, Imlil is surrounded by verdant orchards.
Hike through charming Berber villages and enjoy breath-taking views of the surrounding landscape and mountains on the Imlil and High Atlas Mountains Day Trip from Marrakech. You can also opt to ride on a mule. Experience a delicious traditional lunch in a Berber home, followed by a stroll with your guide before heading back to Marrakech.
Beginning with a drive through the breathtaking Moulay Brahim Gorges and the Berber village of Asni—famous for its vibrant weekly market held every Saturday—your day trip to the Imlil and High Atlas Mountains will commence. Asni is a good place to experience local life as Berbers from nearby villages gather there to trade goods, buy fresh produce, and socialize.
After putting on your hiking boots and making the hour-long hike from Imlil to the serene village of Aroumd (Aremd), you will have lunch outside on a terrace with a view of the whole valley. Spend some time relaxing and digesting with a tea break after lunch.
After enjoying a lovely stroll along a different route back to Imlil, meet your driver to begin the trip back to Marrakech. You can decide to drive back the scenic way by taking a loop around the Asni-Imal route, or you can retrace your steps. You should arrive in Marrakech around 5 p.m.
